A Great Microsoft Data Visualization project

Filed under: Uncategorized — markharrower @ 1:08 am

Gary Flake demos Pivot, a new way to browse and arrange massive amounts of images and data online. Wonderful 7 minute talk showing, what strikes me at least, as very innovative ways to think about data visualization, or, how to deal with the kind of data overload we’re all contending with now. Here’s my big question: HOW DO WE KNOW IF THIS WORKS? Is there any formal evaluation? I’m sure there might be, but I’d like to see some evidence that people understand and learn from these kinds of tools.
