Pros and Cons of Crowdsourcing Geo-situational Data

A well written article from the BBC on how aid agencies must start using Twitter et al for improved data and geographic awareness of humanitarian situations: I like that they outline both the promise and the challenges of using non-traditional datastreams.

Interesting that this appeared 1 month before the Haiti earthquake.
