Tactile interface options

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jeremy White @ 2:55 pm

Fabian Hemmert, at a recent TEDxBerlin conference, showed his graspable mobile phone concept which translates digital content into a physical experience.  It’s interesting how many of his examples (in the video) use maps to demonstrate the basic features and concepts of his devices.

Touch enabled devices with forced feedback are nothing new, but the “personality” approach may be more appealing to people with an apprehension of complicated electronic devices.   Does this kind of interactivity still fall under the domain of interface designers?
